Flexible Digital Options

New Day Digital (NDD) streams documentary films from New Day films, a film maker-owned distribution cooperative started in 1971.   Here you can find both On Demand streams and customized streaming solutions.  What makes us different from any other streaming venture is that we are  run by and for the film makers who created the films.

Our members want to reach an ever-expanding audience.  As the digital transformation unfolds, we're here to learn about your needs and to respond to them with a flexible range of digital delivery options.

Please contact us and let us know what works for you.   Our instantly available On Demand streams are quick and easy to set up for instant viewing.  On Demand streams come with license terms that prohibit streaming in class or to groups.  Many educators are now contacting us for institutional licenses, which provide access to films from a library web site or a class management application at very low cost.  Institutional licenses also include classroom projection rights.  We're eager to pursue institutional licensing and will respond quickly to your inquiries.

On Demand films stream at either 300kbps or 400kbps.   Institutional streams are at at 700kbps or 1500kbps.   In comparison, YouTube streams at either 300kbps or 900kbps.

New Day Digital and Libraries

Librarians support our work by building film collections for teaching, archiving and research.  And the NDD film makers are eager to work with librarians to enhance their catalogs and to increase viewership.   To help keep library costs down, we offer substantial discounts for streaming a film that is already owned on DVD or tape.  If you have an NDD title in your collection that you would like to stream, please contact us .

New Day Films will deliver our films in ways that support library film collections. Because we represent our own films, there is no separation between the distributor and the holder of the digital rights. The member-owners of New Day Films are uniquely positioned to work out digital delivery arrangements tailored to institutional requirements

Join a Dialogue

We particularly encourage professors, teachers and librarians to fill out our survey or to send us comments about this digital experiment. It’s unlikely that we’ll get this thing completely right on the first try, and your feedback will contribute to the success of our evolving digital delivery services.
