Director Andrew Garrison makes both fiction and documentary. He co-founded the media collective, the Dayton Community Media Workshop with fellow-New Day filmmakers, Jim Klein and Julia Reichert. He later worked with the pioneering documentary group Appalshop for over 15 years. His award-winning fiction and documentary work has been broadcast on PBS and selected for festivals worldwide including Sundance, the New York Film Festival, Berlin, and others. He now lives in Austin where he teaches production at the University of Texas. Please visit his students' community-based work at www.EastAustinStories.org
